Are OXVA OX Passion Nic Salts Worth the Hype? Our Honest Review
A well made, smooth, good value nic salt with the bonus of device expertise. Worth trying, especially for pod users, but it is a quality nic salt, not magic, so judge it on your palate.
OXVA OX Passion has built a strong reputation quickly, but is it worth the hype? This honest review looks at the strengths and the caveats, alongside our guide on how it compares with Elfliq and Bar Juice 5000.
In short
Our honest take: OX Passion is a genuinely good nic salt range, well made, smooth, with familiar disposable flavours and the bonus of device expertise from a kit maker, and it represents good value versus disposables. It is not magic, though: it is still a 10ml MTL nic salt much like its rivals, and taste is personal. Worth trying, especially for pod and OXVA Xlim users, but judge it on your own palate.
What it gets right
There is a lot to like. OX Passion is smooth, thanks to the nic salt formula, and its flavours recreate the disposable profiles people switched from, with good clarity. The device expertise behind it, from the maker of the Xlim pod kits, is a real plus, the liquid is tuned to perform in MTL pods. And at 10ml for far less than the disposables it replaces, the value is strong.
Honest pros and cons
| Strengths | Honest caveats |
|---|---|
| Smooth nic salt | Still a nic salt like rivals |
| Device matched | Best in MTL pods only |
| Familiar flavours | Taste is personal |
| Good value | Range varies by stockist |
| Trusted brand | Not a miracle, just well made |
The honest verdict
Is it worth the hype? Largely, yes, with realistic expectations. OX Passion is a well made, smooth, flavourful nic salt that performs especially well in pod kits, and it offers good value. But it is not fundamentally different from other quality nic salts; its advantages are device matching, clean flavour and brand trust rather than anything magical. For pod and OXVA Xlim users, it is well worth trying; as with any e liquid, the final test is your own taste.
Our honest verdict: OX Passion is a well made, smooth, good value nic salt with the bonus of device expertise. Worth trying, especially for pod users, but it is a quality nic salt, not magic, so judge it on your palate.

Keeping expectations realistic
Hype can set expectations too high. OX Passion is a very good nic salt, but it is not going to taste wildly different from other quality salts in the same format, nor should you expect it to. What you can expect is clean, smooth flavour, reliable performance in a pod kit, and good value, which is plenty.
Going in with realistic expectations, a well made, smooth, familiar vape rather than a revolution, is the best way to enjoy it for what it is.
Hype versus reality
| The hype | The reality |
|---|---|
| Best salt ever | A very good salt |
| Totally unique | Familiar profiles, well made |
| Magic flavour | Clean and balanced |
| Suits everyone | Taste is personal |
| Must buy | Well worth trying |
A few more questions
Is OX Passion overhyped?
It lives up to most of the praise as a smooth, well made, good value salt; just expect a quality nic salt, not a miracle.
Who will get the most from it?
Pod kit users, especially OXVA Xlim owners, and anyone wanting clean, smooth, familiar flavours at good value.
Do and don’t
Do
- Expect a smooth, well made nic salt
- Value the device expertise behind it
- Try it especially if you use a pod kit
- Judge it on your own taste
Try not to
- Expect a miracle or a revolution
- Use it in a sub ohm kit
- Vape it if you are a non smoker
- Dismiss rivals without trying them
Who it suits best
OX Passion suits some vapers especially well. If you already use an OXVA Xlim or another MTL pod kit, the device matching is a real bonus. If you have switched from disposables and want familiar flavours with a smooth hit and good value, it fits the bill. And if you like clean, balanced flavour rather than an automatic cooling edge, it plays to your taste.
If, on the other hand, you specifically want a particular Elf Bar flavour or the very widest choice, a rival might suit you better, which is no criticism of OX Passion, just a matter of fit.
Is it for you?
| Great fit if you | Maybe look elsewhere if you |
|---|---|
| Use a pod kit | Want a sub ohm liquid |
| Switched from disposables | Are a non smoker |
| Like clean flavour | Want a cool edge always |
| Value device matching | Want one exact Elf Bar flavour |
| Want good value | Need the very widest range |
The bottom line
Our honest review: OXVA OX Passion is a genuinely good nic salt range. It is smooth, thanks to the salt formula, its flavours cleanly recreate the disposable profiles people switched from, and the device expertise from the maker of the Xlim pod kits is a real plus for pod users. At 10ml for far less than the disposables it replaces, the value is strong too. It is not magic, though: it remains a 10ml MTL nic salt much like its well made rivals, and taste is always personal. So is it worth the hype? Largely yes, with realistic expectations. It is well worth trying, especially for pod and OXVA Xlim users, but the final verdict is your own palate.
How we reached this view
This review is based on what OX Passion is and how it is made, a smooth 50/50 nic salt from a respected device maker, recreating popular disposable profiles, rather than on any claim to insider testing. We have been careful not to overstate it or invent comparisons, and to be clear that taste is personal and rivals are also good.
The aim is an honest, useful steer: a quality range well worth trying, with realistic expectations, not breathless hype. Your own experience, with your own palate and pod kit, is the real test.

A quick word on safety and the law
Vaping is intended for adult smokers and existing vapers as a less harmful alternative to cigarettes. OXVA OX Passion nic salts contain nicotine, which is addictive, so they are not suitable for non smokers, pregnant women or anyone under 18. By law you must be 18 or over to buy vaping products in the UK, and we age verify every order in line with Challenge 25. If you want to stop using nicotine altogether, your local stop smoking service offers free, tailored support.
UK public health bodies advise that vaping is substantially less harmful than smoking, but it is not risk free, and if you do not smoke the advice is not to start.
