OXVA OX Passion vs IVG Nic Salts: Which Has the Stronger Flavour Hit?
On nicotine hit they are the same, both smooth salts up to 20mg. On flavour, IVG is known for bold, punchy taste, while OX Passion is clean and balanced. Choose by flavour style.
OX Passion and IVG are both known for flavour, but which has the stronger hit? It helps to separate flavour intensity from nicotine hit. This guide explains both, alongside our guide on OX Passion vs Doozy nic salts.
In short
On nicotine hit, OX Passion and IVG are essentially the same: both are smooth nic salts capped at the UK’s 20mg limit, so neither hits harder. On flavour intensity, it is about taste, IVG has a reputation for bold, punchy, layered flavours, while OX Passion aims for clean, balanced, device tuned profiles. So IVG may feel more intense in flavour; both deliver the same smooth nicotine hit.
Two meanings of stronger
Stronger can mean two different things, and it matters which. Nicotine hit is about the strength and throat feel of the nicotine, while flavour intensity is about how bold and pronounced the taste is. They are separate, and the brands compare differently on each, so it is worth taking them one at a time.
Two kinds of strength
| Type | OX Passion vs IVG |
|---|---|
| Nicotine hit | The same, both up to 20mg |
| Throat feel | Both smooth nic salts |
| Flavour intensity | IVG known for bold, punchy taste |
| Flavour style | OX Passion clean and balanced |
| Verdict | Same hit, different flavour character |
Nicotine hit versus flavour intensity
On nicotine hit, there is no real winner: both are smooth nic salts capped at the UK’s 20mg maximum, so the strength and throat feel are comparable. On flavour intensity, IVG has built a reputation for bold, layered, pronounced flavours, while OX Passion leans towards clean, balanced clarity. So if by stronger you mean a bigger, bolder taste, IVG may suit you; if you mean a harder nicotine hit, they are effectively equal.

Why nicotine hit is capped the same
A key fact that levels the playing field is the UK’s 20mg nicotine limit. Both OX Passion and IVG, like all legal UK nic salts, top out at 20mg, so neither can deliver a harder nicotine hit than the other. The smooth nic salt chemistry is also similar, so the throat feel is comparable too.
This is why, when people say one brand hits harder, they almost always mean the flavour feels bolder, not that there is more nicotine. The nicotine side is fixed by law.
Nicotine, fixed by law
| Both brands | Detail |
|---|---|
| Max strength | 20mg, the UK limit |
| Salt type | Smooth nic salt |
| Throat feel | Comparable |
| Hit strength | Effectively equal |
| What varies | Flavour intensity |
A few more questions
Does IVG have more nicotine than OX Passion?
No, both are capped at the UK’s 20mg limit, so the nicotine hit is effectively the same.
So what does stronger really mean?
Usually bolder flavour rather than more nicotine; IVG is known for punchy taste, while OX Passion is clean and balanced.
Do and don’t
Do
- Separate nicotine hit from flavour intensity
- Choose IVG for bold, punchy flavour
- Choose OX Passion for clean balance
- Use either in an MTL pod kit
Try not to
- Expect more nicotine from either, both cap at 20mg
- Use these salts in a sub ohm kit
- Vape them if you are a non smoker
- Confuse flavour boldness with nicotine strength
Bold or balanced, which suits you
Flavour intensity is genuinely a matter of taste. Some vapers love a bold, punchy, in your face flavour that really announces itself, which is where IVG’s reputation lies. Others prefer a clean, balanced profile they can vape all day without it becoming overwhelming, which is OX Passion’s territory. Both approaches have devoted fans.
So rather than asking which is stronger, ask which you enjoy: a vivid, bold taste or a clean, balanced one. That question is far more useful than chasing a nicotine difference that, by law, does not exist.
Bold versus balanced
| IVG reputation | OX Passion |
|---|---|
| Bold and punchy | Clean and balanced |
| Vivid flavour | All day friendly |
| Announces itself | Easy going |
| Intense taste | Clear, true notes |
| Same 20mg nicotine | Same 20mg nicotine |
The bottom line
When people ask which has the stronger flavour hit, OX Passion or IVG, it pays to split the question. On nicotine hit, they are essentially the same: both are smooth nic salts capped at the UK’s 20mg limit, so neither delivers more nicotine or a harder throat feel. On flavour intensity, it comes down to taste and reputation, IVG is well known for bold, punchy, pronounced flavours, while OX Passion aims for clean, balanced, device tuned profiles that are easy to vape all day. So if by stronger you mean a bigger, bolder taste, IVG’s reputation may suit you; if you mean a harder nicotine hit, the two are effectively equal. Try one of each and let your own palate decide.
Strength is your choice, within the law
It is worth remembering that nicotine strength is your choice within the legal range. Both OX Passion and IVG offer 10mg and 20mg, so you can pick the hit that satisfies you, 20mg for a heavier ex smoker, 10mg for lighter. Neither brand lets you go above 20mg, because UK law caps it there for safety.
So if you want a stronger nicotine hit from either, the answer is simply to choose the 20mg option, not to switch brands. The brand choice is really about flavour, not nicotine.
Strength choices
| Strength | Suits |
|---|---|
| 20mg | Heavier ex smokers |
| 10mg | Lighter vapers or cutting down |
| Both brands | Offer 10mg and 20mg |
| Above 20mg | Not legal in the UK |
| Your pick | By satisfaction |

A quick word on safety and the law
Vaping is intended for adult smokers and existing vapers as a less harmful alternative to cigarettes. OXVA OX Passion nic salts contain nicotine, which is addictive, so they are not suitable for non smokers, pregnant women or anyone under 18. By law you must be 18 or over to buy vaping products in the UK, and we age verify every order in line with Challenge 25. If you want to stop using nicotine altogether, your local stop smoking service offers free, tailored support.
UK public health bodies advise that vaping is substantially less harmful than smoking, but it is not risk free, and if you do not smoke the advice is not to start.
